Pão de Açúcar and Nokia partner to recycle mobile phones
Pão de Açúcar, Brazil’s top retailer, and Nokia developed “Alô Recicle”, a program to recycle mobile phones, batteries and accessories. In a first step, there will be installed collecting points in 41 Pão de Açúcar and Extra stores in São Paulo, Salvador and Fortaleza cities, but until the end of the year 130 shops will take part on the initiative. A Nokia study shows only 3% of the people in the world recycle their used cell phones and almost half of users don‘t know it is possible to recycle the devices.
